Zion National Park

Zion National Park is one of those places I keep returning to. The scale is extraordinary—massive canyon walls rising almost vertically, changing color as the light moves across them, with the Virgin River and unexpected pockets of green below.
One of my favorite ways to experience Zion is by bicycle. Riding through the canyon slows everything down. Without being enclosed in a car, you become much more aware of the changing light, the towering walls, the river, and all the smaller details along the way. It gives you a completely different sense of the scale of the place.
Each visit feels different, and there is always another view, another stretch of canyon, or another change in the light that catches my attention. Zion has given me enough to draw and paint that it deserves a place of its own here—and I know I’m not finished with it yet.
