Southwest Drawings

This encompasses New Mexico, Nevada and Texas.

New Mexico was my first experience of the West, long before we moved to California. I still remember coming over a hill and seeing Albuquerque spread out below me. There was something about the light, the openness, and the landscape that felt like magic.

That feeling has stayed with me on every return. From the ancient landscape of Chaco Canyon to Albuquerque and the quiet beauty of New Mexico’s state parks, there is a sense of history and mystery woven into the land. New Mexico calls itself the Land of Enchantment, and for me, it truly is.

Parts of Nevada were a complete surprise - the Valley of the Sun State Park is spectacular, well taken care of and everything a campsite could be. I will definitely be back during cooler weather!

Texas - I was born there and still have relatives all over the state - so I go back often.
