The Sierras feel like a different California. Traveling up from Southern California, the change is striking—dense forests, mountain streams, alpine lakes, and water seemingly everywhere. From quiet creeks winding through the trees to the vast expanse of Lake Tahoe, water is an essential part of this landscape. These are places I return to in my drawings and paintings, drawn to the interplay of forest, rock, water, and changing mountain light.
