Send the Pain Below

This painting was created while I listened to Chevelle’s Send the Pain Below. After a devastating loss, I felt that I had to push the pain somewhere beneath the surface simply to survive. In the song, the singer’s voice becomes a scream. That is what this painting holds—the scream that continues inside, even when the world cannot hear it.
