Painting the Landscape — For Young Artists

A four-week landscape painting series for children ages 7–10.

Thursdays: September 10, 17, 24, and October 1, 2026

September 10, 17, and 24: 3:30–5:00 PM
October 1: 3:30–5:30 PM

The final class includes a 30-minute art opening from 5:00–5:30 PM. Each young artist will select a favorite painting to exhibit, and parents and family are invited.

Food and drinks will be served during the final-class art opening. Please provide any food allergies or dietary restrictions when enrolling so refreshments can be planned safely.

Please enter from the courtyard. The classroom is at the former Chaparral High School site, next to the skate park.

Over four weeks, young artists will explore landscape painting through ocean horizons, mountains and depth, skies and color, and an individual landscape of their own choosing. The class emphasizes each child’s artistic decisions rather than a follow-along painting.

Tuition is $200 for the four-week series. All materials are included: 8 × 10 canvas panels, acrylic paint, brushes, easels, reference photographs, and viewfinders.

No experience is necessary. Please have children dress for painting.
