Carpinteria Bluffs Spring

Painted plein air at the Carpinteria Bluffs. The tree in the distance sits along a route I love—walk toward it, cross the railroad tracks, and a trail continues past the farms before eventually reaching Carpinteria State Beach.

I was drawn to the layers of this landscape: the wildflowers and grasses, the open field, and that wonderful tree against the blue of the distant coast. It is a place that invites you to keep walking just to see what comes next.
