This morning, I visited Paris—in my mind and in my drawing.
We had a glorious two weeks there a few years ago, which gave us the luxury of time to simply wander and enjoy the city. This was a rainy day in the Jardin des Tuileries.
One of the things I remember most were the wonderful chairs scattered throughout the garden. They weren’t attached to anything—you could simply move one into the shade or sun, pull a few together for a conversation, or find a quiet spot to sit and watch Paris go by.
And I distinctly remember thinking: these would get stolen in the U.S. 😂
Funny what stays with you from a place. Sometimes it’s not the grand monuments, but something as simple as a movable chair on a rainy day.
