I’m working on my new website, and as I go through years of drawings, I keep finding places that make me wonder: Why don’t I have more from here?
Kauaʻi is one of those places.
So this morning, I went back.
I still remember the boat moving through the water, the heavy mist, and especially the silence. Even with a boat full of people, there wasn’t much talking. Everyone seemed to be doing the same thing—just looking, quietly in awe of this beautiful land.
One of the things I love most about my Morning Practice is that I don’t just draw a place. For a little while, I get to be there again.
