2026.08.01–08.02 View of Yellowstone River from the North Rim Trail – Yellowstone NP

Sometimes life happens, and you can’t finish a drawing in one day, so this one took me two mornings. I loved chasing all the subtle shifts in value through the mist. The Yellowstone River was there, but often more suggested than seen, with the dark pines emerging through the spray.

As I drew, I could still hear the thunder of the water below and occasionally feel a cool drop of mist drifting up from the canyon.
