2026.05.09 On the Way to Murray Canyon Trail – Palm Springs

I admit it—I skipped my morning practice yesterday morning. I was too excited to get out onto the Murray Canyon Trail before the desert heat settled in for the day. Sometimes the pull of a place wins.

This land is part of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians’ trust land. The trail moves through palms, rock, water, and desert light in a way that feels both harsh and sheltered at the same time. Even on the way there, the landscape already felt like a drawing.
