2026.05.13–05.14 Agua Caliente Off Reservation Trust Land – Palm Springs

This drawing was made during a brief visit to Palm Springs, near Agua Caliente Reservation Trust land. I only had a limited amount of time there, so I returned to the piece over two days — adding to it when I could and slowly pulling the landscape together through line and layers of gray marker.What stayed with me most was the contrast within the desert itself: dense dark shadows against the brightness of the rocks and sand, and the surprising sense of quiet tucked into the terrain. The drawing became less about documenting a specific view and more about holding onto the atmosphere of that short time spent there.
