2026.04.30 Near Oak View Baseball Field

I was at a youth baseball game when these oaks pulled my attention beyond the field. While the energy of the game carried on nearby, I kept noticing the weight of the branches and the quiet beneath them.I didn’t draw this on site, but later returned to the scene through memory and a photograph, trying to hold onto that contrast—the movement and noise of the afternoon beside the steadiness of the landscape just beyond it.
