2026.04.24 Brooks Range from Galbraith Lake, AK

The Brooks Range has a way of making me feel both very small and deeply present at the same time. From Galbraith Lake, the mountains rose sharply from the open tundra, still holding snow late into the season while the water and low ground reflected the shifting Arctic light.What stays with me most about this landscape is its openness—broad spaces shaped by weather, silence, and time. I wanted this drawing to remain spare and direct, allowing the structure of the mountains and the quiet rhythm of the land to carry the image.
