The Ojai Saddle Trails are a place I return to again and again. The path moves through open grasslands and low oaks, with the mountains rising close enough to feel like part of the walk rather than just the background.There’s a simplicity here that I love—the narrow trail cutting through dry grasses, the quiet, and the sense that the landscape hasn’t asked to be improved. It’s a place for walking, for thinking, and for remembering how much beauty can live in something understated. Every season changes it, but the feeling of space and stillness remains the same.
