2026.03.23 Rincon Beach, Ventura County

Rincon is one of my favorite local places to camp. It’s RV-only, so you have to be completely self-contained, but that’s part of the charm. You park parallel to the beach, with the ocean just outside your door—it feels like our own middle-class beach house.I love the rhythm of this place: waking to the sound of waves, long walks along the shore, and the small rituals of beach camping. These birds caught my attention because they moved with such purpose, all together, as if they were deep in conversation. I found myself wondering what they were saying to each other as they worked their way down the shoreline.
