2026.03.21 Ventura Bike Trail

This stretch of the Ventura Bike Trail near Casitas Springs has a quiet, in-between feeling—part path, part passage, moving between towns, hills, and riverbed. Riding here, the curve of the road seems to pull you forward, framed by old fences, trees, and the steep hills rising alongside.I was on my way into Ventura, taking the longer ride instead of staying close to Ojai. It was the first time I had gone that far by bike, and the landscape felt both familiar and newly noticed. There’s something about traveling at that pace that makes even a simple trail feel like its own small journey.
