2026.03.17 Ventura Bike Trail

I have several drawings from along the Ojai–Ventura Bike Trail, but this was the first time I rode all the way down to Ventura on my bike. I was headed there for some much-needed repairs—a 12-mile ride that follows the river and opens into these wide, quiet views.I usually stay closer to Ojai, so this felt like both an errand and a small adventure. Traveling slowly through the landscape made me notice more—the dry grasses, the low brush, the cactus standing against the hills, and the mountains holding the horizon. It’s a simple route, but one that felt memorable because it was new.
