Non-Objective

Don't Let Your Toe Slip

oil/cold wax on cradled board, 16x16

(or as John Irving wrote: watch out for the Undertoad)

Helpless

36x18 oil/mixed media with cold wax medium on ripped up old paintings pasted on cradled board

I spent my youth in Northern Quebec and summers in Ontario.
Neil Young’s song Helpless captures the wild beauty of the isolated north.
I close my eyes and can smell the pine needles gently falling on the forest floor – a whisper in the deep
silence punctuated by the haunting laughter of the loons.
All my changes were there.

Goldberg Variations

36x36, oil on canvas

I studied music and the first time I heard the Goldberg Variations I felt as if I was listening to the music of the universe. Bach is so mathematical - yet musical. I painted this piece while listening to Bach's Goldberg Variations.

Pompous Pig or F*ck Trump - SOLD

5x5, oil on cradled board, palette knife

This was one of those pieces I had to get out. I was listening to one of Eminem's raps (...f*ck this...f*ck that...) and I was so ticketed off at Trump. This is what came out.

Only Just A Dream

24x18, oil/mixed media on board

Tribal - Sold

24x24, oil on canvas

This was painted while I listened to Disturb's "Down with the Sickness" over and over.
