Day 89 of My 90 Day Challenge
Palmer, Alaska (Outside Anchorage)
Day 89… hard to believe it’s almost over. I think I would feel sad, except some new cradled boards (a lot larger than what I’ve been painting on for this project) arrived today from Jerry’s Artarama and I have to admit… I’m excited!
There are a few pieces that I’ve done over the last 90 days that I definately want to paint larger. These pieces that I paint range in size from 4″ x 6″ to 8″x 10″. I want to do some in 24×24, 18×24, etc. So… art-wise, it gives me something to look forward to. Well, and Artwalk (where I’ll be showing all 90 of my paintings) the first weekend in October and The Ojai Studio Artists tour the second weekend in October. And then… a Yosemite painting trip with a few of my artist friends! Busy times.
Anyway… this piece is from outside Anchorage – or Anchor town as one of my friends who has lived there a long time calls it. Anchorage was actually a nice town – the downtown area was bustling, there seemed to be a lot to do and I had some exceptional Mediterranean cooking there. (who wouldve thought?!)
We went from Anchorage to Denali and this beautiful scene was on our way.
I haven’t figured out what I’m painting tomorrow, but I’m looking forward to finding out!
