Day 80 of My 90 Day Challenge

Denali Tundra

Today was a very long day… we woke up at 4:45 am to catch our bus at 5:30. There is a lottery system for individual cars going through the park – so most people have to be bussed. We had a number of stops where we could take photos — but there was so many absolutely perfect views that I wanted to stop more than we did. I was tempted to bring my paints and I’m glad I didn’t. All of our stops were only 10 minutes and – it was cold. Especially when we got up to the tundra elevations. I must admit, I’m in love with Denali. The tundra is a feast for the eyes that I never got tired of looking at.

We arrived at the visitors center about 1:30 had lunch and then waited for our train to bring us to Fairbanks. Luckily, our luggage had been brought to our room so the minute I got to the room, I set up my paints.

There wasn’t enough room around the beds, so I set-up in the mini-kitchen right by the front door.  Hey.. it worked! I’ve actually been surprised at the areas I’ve been painting in… bad lighting, tiredness, but I’m at 80!!! I have to admit, I’m proud of myself.

Thank you for joining me on my journey!
