Lake Nemegosenda
One of the things that is so hard for those of us who live in Southern California is the absolute silence (of man-made sounds) in the great north woods of Canada.
My oldest and dearest friend has a cabin on Lake Nemegosenda. How many people are on this lake? There is a fishing lodge… but besides that, no one else. That’s right… no others.
You can’t even drive up to her cabin and I think the fishing lodge brings people in by seaplane. We never saw them at all when we were there. The lake is 8 miles long – 8 miles of silence. There wasn’t even the laughter of loons — too early in the season.
