British Columbia is so vast and varied that traveling through it can feel like crossing several different landscapes. We first entered from Washington, traveling north toward Alaska, and later returned from the Yukon as we made our way east toward the Northwest Territories.

Along the way were mountains and forests, rivers and lakes, long stretches of highway, and small communities separated by enormous distances. The landscape continually changed, and so did the experience of moving through it.

The work gathered here comes from different points along those journeys—places where we stopped for a while, places I drew or painted, and others that have stayed with me and continue to find their way into my work.
