This morning I woke up at 5:30 am to paint plein air (a fancy term for painting outside). You would think with COVID-19 and being stuck at home I would’ve been out a lot. But somehow… I hadn’t made it out. Finally, the call of the outdoors forced me to head out (and a Spark-ly friend!).
was honored (and nervous!) to be one of 5 artists interviewed on KZSB Santa Barbara during Elizabeth Stewart’s (she’s holding the pooch!) show on Friday, Oct. 4.
This year, for the Ojai Studio Artists Tour (coming up this weekend – Oct. 12 – 14) we were asked if we wanted to do a DEMONSTRATION or EXPERIENCE for our tour attendees.
Many of you know – or have met me – at The Annual Ojai Studio Artists Tour. It’s one of my favorite events to participate in every year. (The image above is a detail of an almost finished painting…)
I’m still participating – just abbreviated. Why? My best-laid plans can’t stand up to airline flight changes…
Origins, an exhibit by Ojai Studio Artists and The Ojai Valley Museum opened on August 16 and runs through October 15.
Yes, I know the above image does not look like painting in a window – but since I haven’t done it yet, I don’t have a photo!
This Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm I’m part of open studio for Ojai Studio Artists. Every “Second Saturday” through August, studios in different parts of town are open free of charge to the public. Kind’ve a “warm-up”
I’m on a painting trip with Kay Zetlamier, Gina Niebergall and Anette Power — all wonderful painters. This is our second year in Gull Lake (Spark Taylor couldn’t make it this year), we rent a cabin, take turns being responsible for dinner and mainly paint all day (with a break in mid-day) and talk painting all night!
Come join me this weekend for the Ojai Studio Artists Tour! While you don’t have to have a ticket to visit my studio, you will need a ticket to visit others studios. Buy your ticket HERE. My studio will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 – 5.
Guess I just can’t stop blogging! Anyway, this piece was done specifically for Ojai Studio Artists scholarship raffle that will be held during the studio tour weekend, Oct. 13 – 15.
