La Canada Larga Rd II

Today did not turn out like I thought. I was planning on getting my painting done early before Father’s Day festivities started. As they said, the best laid plans…

At about 7:00 pm, I had to excuse myself from guests so I got changed and went to my studio.

Luckily, I had planned what I was going to paint yesterday, so at least I knew what I where I was going.

This is yet another La Canada Larga Rd scene — one of my favorite places — especially during the winter. It’s so isolated, yet easy to get to. And, as you can tell from my paintings, very green in the winter.

I started out with a rough notan to work out the placement and major shapes.

I had most of my colors mixed the day before — so things went fairly quickly. I have to admit, I’m falling in love painting these little guys. (This one is 4″ x 4″.)
