A Chicken Laid an Egg…A What?

Updated: Feb 25

Do you remember that old childhood game? I truly used to laugh hysterically after that went around a few times…why? I have no idea. I can’t help but have that game run through my head as The EGG arrived at my home the other day. This egg is 5′ tall and 5′ wide at the widest portion and a whopping 48 pounds!. Eeek!!! How am I going to paint this? We, of course were told the size but the reality is not EGG-actly what I envisioned. (Couldn’t resist that…after all, resistance is futile. (couldn’t resist that one either!))
12 Ojai Studio Artists (Stephen Edwards, Amy-Lynn Stevenson, Duane Eells, Jules Weissman, Katie Van Horne, Pamela Grau, Patricia O’Neal, Shahastra Levy, Susan Guy, Tanya Kovaleski, Richard Franklin and myself) will be painting/sculpting/re-configuring eggs for the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa for a massive egg hunt at their beautiful resort. As part of the package, they are generously donating to our scholarship fund.
So, all of us artists will be blogging about our experience with the egg so stay tuned!
